For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10

This summer, kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him.

FAQs

What is VBS?

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a fun-filled spiritual adventure that focuses on Bible study and life application for children age 5-Grade 5 (Age 5 on or before August 15).

Why should I volunteer at VBS? This would be a really long list if we listed all the reasons, but here are just a few…

  • VBS is the single largest evangelistic event we hold all year. Children from all over the area, both churched and unchurched, will come, and we have the opportunity to both show them and tell them how much Jesus loves them.
  •  Because you’ll be at VBS, you’ll be able to have conversations with your own child about what happened that morning, what he or she learned, what game he or she played in rec, and more.
  • You could serve in your own child’s class, getting to know his or her peers!
  • When you invite neighbors to VBS, you can assure them that you’ll be in the building if they needed anything.

Will I get stuck doing hours of planning, or decorating, or something I really don’t want to do?

When you complete the volunteer registration, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us where and how you’re available to serve. If you have any questions about what a particular role will look like, we’ll be happy to help explain that so you can make an informed decision about your VBS role before making a commitment. I do hope you will prayerfully consider being a part of Station Hill’s 2022 VBS team! Please note: ALL volunteers MUST be Brentwood Baptist church members or regular attendees and MUST complete a background check as well as the online Volunteer Registration Form (Click the volunteer registration link below to complete the Registration Form.

[expand title="It’s just one week—is VBS that valuable?"]

Attending one week at VBS is the time equivalent of attending Sunday morning groups for 6 months! And…because learners are immersed in the biblical content for an extended period of time each day, they have even more opportunities to learn through repetition using games, snacks, music, and more.

Can my young preschooler even come to VBS?

VBS is available to preschoolers ages birth-4 while a parent volunteers. You can come to VBS together!

WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF VBS

Below is information that will help you know what to expect when you drop-off and pick-up your children from VBS.

PARKING

As you enter the parking lot, please follow the direction of our Parking team.  You will find check-in and registration by entering the Connection Center through door H and door G.

ARRIVAL

When you arrive, follow the blue and green flags to enter through the main doors. If you have any questions when you arrive, you can find anyone wearing a red VBS t-shirt and they will be glad to help however they can.

CHECK-IN/DROP-OFF

Check-in and drop-off begins at 8:45 AM. To check-in your child:

  • Go to one of the check-in computer kiosks in the atrium. Enter your phone number, select your children’s names, and hit print.
  • The computer will print two nametags for each child. One is for you to keep and the other is to go on your child.
  • In addition to the nametag, you will also receive a wristband for each child. This is an extra layer of security in case you or your child misplaces a nametag.
After checking-in your child, the doors to the worship center will open at 8:45 AM. Please escort your child to the row of seats labeled with your child’s class name (KB – “Kindergarten B”)

PICK-UP

Preschool Pick-up will begin at 12:00 PM in the Preschool Ministry area. K-5 grade will be picked up at 12:15 in Hudson Hall.  A wristband or nametag (or photo of nametag) MUST be presented to pick-up your child.
